10:04 am - Off sick - time to write some mindless musings!
I'm all sickly today so I thought I'd entertain myself by sharing my thoughts!

Bought a new TV! It's a Samsung 32 inch LCD HD TV. Now although I'm a technophile I try not to get to carried away with it all but MY GOD it's a thing of beauty!!! Having upgraded it from an appx.8 -year-old Grundig 14 inch TV/VCR combi (I think I got it for my 14th/15th birthday) it is a massive difference! The picture quality and sound is great! I was worried too that the DVD player I got for my 18th birthday (which cost something silly like £20) wouldn't stand up to the picture quality of such a good TV. Far from it! It absolutely holds it's own and I don't think I'll bother updating it until DVDs become out-moded by Blueray/HD-DVD/MP4/whatever else becomes the dominant technology.

I also bought a drill and managed to mount it on a bracket on the wall. It looks absolutely stunning and works really well in the room. The size, position, everything is just great. It looks like it was made for the room/the room was made for it! I'm supposed to be having someone come round today to fix the reception (my reception is crappy, I recon the wire between the arial on the top of my building and my flat just need replacing - hopefully won't cost too much). Once that's done I should be able to watch Doctor Who this weekend how it was meant to be watched: on a big bloody screen with big bloody sound!!!

Talking of Doctor Who: Caught up with Torchwood over the weekend at my friend Lauras and I have to say that this year is far better than the last. Whereas last year there were 2 very good episodes and the rest ranged from OK to not great, this year there have been some cracking episodes. The whole "Owen is Dead" arch was very good. Despite really disliking Owen as a character, I actually find him OK now and sorta felt a little bit sorry for him really. I also really liked the last episode: "Fragments". It was a really nicely put together piece of Drama that really established some good back story. Also, seeing Ianto and Jack "at it" in "Adrift" was no bad thing ^_-

Right! Paracetamol is wearing off so I'm going to make another cup of tea and lie on the sofa in front of my new TV. Might put on Doctor Who: "Robot" - Tom Baker's first outing as the Doctor!

11:22 pm - Miss Ashleigh Jade joins spiderbaby!

One of the many reasons for my lacking in time to blog!

MissJade (aka Ashleigh) has joined Spiderbaby!

Read the press release below for more info! Please add Ashleigh Jade's new band Spiderbaby for all the latest news and behind the scene gossip!!!

                                            JANUARY 2008

SPIDERBABY EXPLODES INTO 2008 WITH A NEW ADDITION!

Another stomach-churning loop-the-loop in the world of SpiderBaby!  We are delighted to announce the addition of stunningly talented vocalist and keyboard player Ashleigh Jade!  Ashleigh will share vocal duties with front-man Shannon as well as creating sexy grooves on the keyboard and synthesiser.

Ashleigh's music sensibilities range from goth to jazz, giving her voice delicious depth and character.  She is also an accomplished musician, playing violin, clarinet and guitar as well as piano/keyboard.  Her unique image makes her an ideal addition to the phenomenon of SpiderBaby.

But there is only room for one diva in the world of SpiderBaby so there is a second announcement to be made.  Just before Christmas Naomi found God and decided that SpiderBaby songs conflicted with her new-found extreme beliefs so she has parted company with the band.

Ashleigh will make her stage debut on the band's forthcoming tour of the UK and we hope to meet lots of you out there!

Full tour dates and details can be found at www.myspace.com/spiderbabyband!

11:24 pm - a pause from blogging
To everyone I know on LJ.

Due to a hectic life (new flat, new job and lots of other new things....) I have little time to blog these days.

So this is to say that I will not be blogging for the forseeable future. It's too difficult to keep my real life going let alone my online life....

... however, this is not necissarily the end.

Keep your eyes on www.myspace.com/missjademusic as there will be a big surprise there over the next couple of months! I will try to post any news here too but, like I said, I'm a bussy bussy girlie!

Love to your Mothers! (sorry, Russel Howard Radio Show in Joke)

12:56 am - Bussy Bussy Bee!
Ohh I'm so bussy at the moment.

So exchange went fine and I'm completing on the 13th! So if anyone wants to come and help me with wall painting I would be most appreciative and give you food and alcohol in thanks! Two men and a van are coming to mine on monday 19th to pick up my stuff from my rented flat and put it into my newly bought flat. Hopefully, furnature I need will also be arriving that week.

As well as flat stuff, social stuff has been going on too. Today I went out with the lovely [info]__s_d__ and [info]house_of_charli's. We wondered over to the wonderful pub with no name and had lots of fantastic mexican food. We then pottered back via a rather interesting independant off lisence on Southover street, and watched some Top Gear followed by the movie Mallrats.

Also... I have two bits of exciting news!

Bit of news number one.... I can't tell you..... but hopefully I can tell you soon! Some who I have seen in person already know but it can't get out on the net just yet! It's very exciting and relates to my musical "career" (such as it is)... stay tuned folks

I auditioned for the Brighton University Drama Society's production of Alice in Wonderland and I will be playing The Duchess... much fun!

Anyway I'm off to bed now... tomorow my parents are coming down to help me measure the new flat and buy paints and hopefully my new housemate will be coming along to make sure she definitally want's the room!!!

Night Night!

8:33 pm - Flat news!
Hello

Feeling a bit better... still pretty depressed, very stressed and tired.

Good news today! I heared from the estate agents and it seems that the planning permission issue (which has been going on for the last month) seems like it may have been solved. This (of course) needs to be verified by my Solicitors but this hopefully means I should exchange soon!

So... this leaves a question of a lodger. Anyone interested? I'm looking for around £400 per month (excluding bills) but being Jewish I'm open to haggling (lol!) I will hopefully be moving in in the next month-or-so...

Also, Alice in Wonderland (the Brighton Uni Drama Soc play) auditions take place soon and I just got the script (well the one it will be based on.. an adaptation made for the RSC.) I'm really excited and still not 100% sure who I should audition for. I'm possibly thinking the Queen of hearts but some part of me thinks I should go for Alice (despite being 100% wrong for it looks-wise... I dunno... maybe they'll do a gothic Alice)....

What do you guys think....

Anyway, off to London this weekend... need to get away from the flat for a weekend...

8:59 pm - "I think you ought to know... I'm feeling rather depressed..."
Feeling a bit crappy at the moment. Feeling like I'd like to have a bit of a cry really...

Not even sure why but working my ass off, being really bussy all the time and feeling really tired isn't helping... nor is the fact that I just managed to scald my hand whilst finishing making my homemade Mushroom soup... tastes nice but you aren't meant to taste it with your hand! Have had frozen peas on it all evening and it feels better but my thumb looks like it may blister... have to wait and see really...

I'm just sorta wishing I had some help sometimes. It's just really hard work looking after myself sometime (sounds stupid I know) and would love someone to talk to. My housemate is really pissing me off and being really fucking selfish, unfriendly and immature at the moment. All he does the whole time is lock himself in his room and play his bloody computer games. I wish I could have an adult conversation with someone sometimes. It's like something between babysitting and having a moody fucking teenager (and for someone who doesn't want/like children that isn't a good thing). At first when I heared he was running back home to his Mama I was upset but now I'm fucking looking forward to it. At least I don't have to play Mummy anymore. It's strange really to think I'm younger than him....

Maybe it's just a comedown from the weekend.... which was so fun. Ross Noble was brilliant.

Maybe it's going to work, or maybe it's that I'll be 22 soon-ish (fucking hell that sounds old!) but I'm starting to feel like I've had enough with teen-angst ridden uni stuff. I'm becoming a bit cantankerous as I grow up ... I should really have a slot on Grumpy Old Women. I'm just feeling like I've had enough of things and more things are pissing me off...

Anyway... my thumbs starting to sting again so I'd better stop typing and put the peas on it again... *sigh*

9:42 am - Drunk and Disordily, Chris and Chali, Ross Noble
Hello,

This weekend I have been my bussy self. It seems whenever I go to London, the next weekend I am seeing loads of people to make up for not being in Brighton!

Friday night was Resistance. Much fun! Loads of my friends were there including [info]__s_d__ , [info]house_of_charli, [info]rose_saignant , [info]rapier_sword , [info]zoep , Nim, Nargis, Emz, Eric, Dani, Henry, Stewart etc.etc. I was so drunk that I honestly don't remember posing for this picture...

Yesterday I spent a lot of time in a comatose, hungover state, thinking I was gonna be sick. Managed somehow to get my hair cut. By the evening I felt better and went over to [info]__s_d__ and [info]house_of_charli house. [info]__s_d__ made a fantastic Sag Paneer and a Prawn Curry. We watched Nightwatch - a fantastic film if you hadn't seen it!

Tonight [info]rose_saignant, Alex, [info]rapier_sword and I are seeing Ross Noble at the Dome. Today I am hopefully picking up my new corset and seeing Nargis as well as picking up some shopping.

Anyway... should really get dressed....

9:53 pm - Spamalot, Gigs and Spaced
Hello...

Long time no update... mainly because I've becoma adicted to Facebook... find me there... my name is Ashleigh Jade (to all my close friends, I know that isn't my real name but my stage/net name seemed more appropriate on there!)

So went home to see my parents 13-year-old cousin David from Switzerland... which was fun. Photos here.

On Saturday I met them at the British Museum (going streight there from Hove station... via Victoria station of course!) We saw all the mummies and stuff... which are always cool. They also had Mumified Cats and kittens. We also saw some amazing Islamic art and a whole exhibition about Life and Death... which appealed to my gothic side. They had laid out the average number of pills you take in a lifetime... quite scary really.

Then we went to this weird bowling ally in this basement. They only had about 4 lanes and had posters of the Big Lebowski on the wall (which was cool... love that film... should see it again soon!) We got a lane and amazingly I won with a score of 61 (I was also the only one to get a spare)! My mum and David drew second with 62 and my Dad came last with 49 after a terrible last few rounds! We ate burgers there (which were very nice!) and then went to Ben and Jerry's in Leicester Square. We met up briefly with my brother in Soho (he always turns up randomly and briefly) before heading to see Spamalot.

Spamalot was fantastic! Very very funny as well as having good catchy songs. And Peter Davidson (aka the 5th Doctor ^-^) looked like he was having a ball. Well worth seeing!

Sunday, I took my cousin to Camden market. I bought a load of nice clothes including a ruffled cardigan-thing, A tee shirt with NERD spelled out in Scrabble pieces and a black and white stripped hoodie. Camden is different from last time... I think it's lost even more of its soul ,<_>

Finally... lots of stuff coming up... Next weekend I'm going top Resistance on Friday, Having curry at [info]__s_d__ and Charli's new house and seeing Ross Noble with [info]rose_saignant, Alex and [info]rapier_sword on Sunday. I also have the VNV nation gig on the 18th October and the Birthday Massacre gig (in London with George and Emz). And on the 10th November I'm going to an all day showing of both series of Spaced on the big screen at the BFI with Paul and his brother Daniel... and Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevens, Edgar Wright and the rest of the cast and crew might be there... yay!

Oh and work is going well... having a massage on the company tomorow... long story.... part of a work social thingy....

11:26 am - Yom Kippur at home and Booking tickets to Hamlet and Comedy
Hello

Today is the Jewish festival of Yom Kippur... which means you fast... so as I'm at home with my parents, I'm fasting *stomach growels*. I took half a day of work yesterday to come home and take the fast with my family.

In other news The RSC's version of Hamlet starts public booking on the 15th October. I want to book tickets ASAP so who would like to come with me?

Also, I want to try and make it to some gigs at the Brighton Comedy Festival that I didn't get to see/weren't on at Edinburgh.

I'd particulaly like to see Ross Noble and Jason Byrne. Anyone else anyone would like to see I'm game for too... just let me know if you wanna go to any gigs.

My new job is going well. It's interesting but the commuting is tiring.

As for the flat... still no real news....

1:27 am - Lazy day and getting broody for a kitty!
So the work-placement job is going well but the 6:45 starts, hour commute to Worthing and not-getting-home-'till-almost-7pm is really taking it out of me. I seem to always have sore eyes and be constantly tired. Ended up cleaning the house having a nap and doing not much else today, C'est la vie....

Went to Deviant last night... which was fine but not amazing... I just find it kinda bland. Company was good though!

This evening, despite trying to write more chapters of my Doctor Who Fanfiction: Ressurection of the Time Lords, I ended up just looking at some Comedy on YouTube from comedians I found particulaly good at the Edinburgh festival. Had a look at Jason Byrne's stuff on YouTube and found he has a DVD so gonna get that when I have some spare cash (make that never!) and also had a look at some of Andrew Maxwells Stuff. Also found Mark Watson's books on Amazon... will try and get hold of them after I finish reading my current book: The Liar by Stephen Fry... the second book of his I've read... he's quite a compelling writer.

I've also been looking at Kitten sites on the internet. This is not a good thing for me to do because it makes me broody. I don't particulaly like children but LOVE Cats and Dogs. I've never had a cat but would really like one and I've always been brought up with (or should that be by) Dogs... more specifically Boxer Dogs. One of the driving reasons behind buying a flat is so that I can buy a kitty and now I really want one... I particulaly would like a Burmese cat as a friend of the family has one and she is really lovely. They are also particulaly affectionate cats by defult.

Anyway, was looking online and discovered that a breeder in Worthing has a litter that will be available on the 30th November. This made me even more broody as that's the day after my birthday!!! I WANNA KITTIE FOR MY BIRTHDAY.... purrrrlease!!!

*sigh*... just have to wait for flat first...

Ugh... after having an early night (about 10:30-ish) I'm now awake and feeling crappy....

Usually I only feel like this about once every 4 months or-so but if I'm feeling this bad tomorow I may have to go to the doctors. Ugh ok... think the panadol is kicking in

Up at 6:45 tomorow again for work so had better try and get to sleep again...
